Colorful Blooming Plants in early June

June 9, 2011

Having been absent from my garden for the past 8 days I was pleasantly surprised, during my early walk this morning I noticed the following flowers blooming in the yard: the purple wisteria that climbs on the arch in the Shakespeare Herb Garden just finished blooming; the larkspur and Knockout pink rose were blooming in the Monet Garden; and two water garden plants, Japanese Iris and red pond lily were blooming. What a joy to see beauty in the garden in spite of the 90s degree heat. Scattered showers were reported to arrive this morning but only a few drops landed on the garden. Thus, I took out the hose and watered the shade garden, Victorian and Colonial Gardens.
